“I like the Boys & Girls Club because it is a place to come and know it is safe and get my homework done.  Also, I like to hang out.  If I have nothing to do after school I can come and do my homework.  Because I’m coming here I’m getting good grades compared to when I didn’t come as much.”

- Club Member and 9th Grade Student at Burlington High School

Introduction to the Club

Club history

The Boys & Girls Club of Burlington has been serving the children and youth of Chittenden County since 1942. The Club was started as a place for boys who needed constructive alternatives to hanging out on Burlington street corners. As the years progressed, the Club evolved its membership to include girls as well as boys from very diverse racial, economic, ethnic and religious backgrounds.

Today, the Club reaches approximately 1300 children and youth annually through its many programs and constant outreach activities from two locations in the Old North End of Burlington.

Our programs and fees are structured to encourage easy, affordable participation. The annual fee for membership is $5 per child. Our full day summer camp program fee is $40 per week. Scholarships are available for any family unable to meet these costs.
