Club Gets Soccer Donations

Thanks to the help of one local
business, dozens of kids at the Boys and Girls Club in Burlington are
about to get some much needed sports equipment. Go to the Boys and Girls Club and it's obvious what the kids are passionate about---soccer. The Boys and Girls Club athletic director says the donations will go far. "A lot of these kids can't afford their own equipment and this will
give them the opportunity to play at a very competitive level," said
Jack Stackhouse. Ouellette says the gear will be delivered to the club later this week.
The
club will be receiving a donation of soccer balls, cleats, socks and
shin guards from the Sportshoe Center in South Burlington.
The store held a two month long equipment drive allowing their customers to bring in their used gear.
General Manager Chris Ouellette said that the response from the community was overwhelming.
"People
started bringing stuff in and then one gentleman from Shelburne dropped
off 60 soccer balls," said Ouellette. "It was just unbelievable."
