Arts & Technology

Under the creative influence of our Arts and Technology Program Staff, Club members experiment with a variety of mediums that allow them to express themselves in new ways:

  • Digital Arts:

Members use our beautifully equipped digital media lab and recording studio to explore graphic design, audio and visual editing and recording, and web design.

  • Photography:

Using both film and digital cameras, members learn and use the various camera functions, take and critique photographs, and digitally edit pictures using up to the minute software. Each Spring, members can submit photos to the Boys & Girls Club of America’s ImageMakers photography contest.

  • Dance:

Members learn the latest moves in hip-hop and other dance programs.

  • Music:

Our fully outfitted recording studio at 62 Oak Street is the perfect place for members to learn to record and edit their own music. There are opportunities to learn a variety of musical instruments including guitar, piano, percussion, drums, and more.

  • Fine Arts:

Using our well-stocked art studios, members explore drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, fiber arts, mixed media and sculpture.

  • Invention Challenges:

Each week, our kids get the chance to pit their creative and critical thinking skills against one another in friendly, non-competitive challenges that range from inventing the best boomerang to building the tallest tower.

  • Cyber Cafè:

Our Cyber Cafè is the place where members can meet up, hang out, and grab a snack. Kids in grades 6 – 12 can check their e-mail, and everyone gets the chance to play games and visit with friends.
