Career Readiness and Life Skills
The Boys and Girls Club of Burlington has a complete menu of Career Readiness and Life Skills curriculum in place to help youth plan their future, prepare and search for a job, learn the basics of personal finance, and seek opportunities for post secondary education. We help set our members on the right track to a successful future.

KnowHow2GO College and Career Readiness:
KnowHow2GO is a national college and career readiness initiative that prepares youth for academic success and college preparation. Members learn about the steps necessary to do well in school, graduate, and explore possible post-secondary education options. Participants visit local businesses, the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation, and New England colleges and universities. To learn more, click on the link above!

Torch Club:
Torch Club is our leadership and community service club for middle school members. Participants meet weekly to plan Club activities and help the community with service projects. |

Keystone Club:
Keystone Club is our teen leadership and community service group. Members participate in activities in the identified core areas including community events, service projects, and peer leadership. |

Youth of the Year:
Sponsored by the Reader's Digest Foundation, the National Youth of the Year Program is designed to promote and recognize service to Club and community, academic performance and contributions to family and spiritual life. Competition begins with each Club selecting a Youth of the Year who then enters state competition. State winners receive a plaque and $1,000 scholarship then enter the regional competition. Each of the five regional winners receives a $10,000 scholarship and enters the national competition held in Washington, DC. The National Youth of the Year receives an additional $15,000 scholarship, totaling $26,000 in scholarships, and is installed by the President of the United States.

MoneyMatters:
MoneyMatters gives members the chance to learn about
personal finance, savings, investments, banking, as well as the building blocks to running a business. Participants visit local banks and take part in a series of educational units designed to help them grow into financially responsible adults. |

SMART Girls:
SMART Girls is offered to members in grades 4 — 8 and focuses on issues specific to female members. It is designed to encourage healthy attitudes and lifestyles. |

SMART Guys:
SMART Guys is designed for boys in grades 4 — 8 and, like SMART Girls, focuses on healthy attitudes and lifestyles. |
