Career Readiness & Life Skills Programs
The Boys and Girls Club of Burlington’s Career Readiness and Life Skills programs are designed to help youth plan their future, prepare and search for a job, learn the basics of personal finance, and seek opportunities for post secondary education. We help set our members on the right track to a successful future.
KnowHow2GO College and Career Readiness 
KnowHow2GO is a national college and career readiness initiative that prepares youth for academic success and college preparation. Members learn about the steps necessary to do well in school, graduate, and explore possible post-secondary education options.
Torch Club
Torch Club is our leadership and community service club for middle school members. Participants meet weekly to plan Club activities and help the community with service projects.
Youth of the Year
Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Youth of the Year recognition is the highest honor a Club member can achieve. Since its inception in 1947, the Youth of the Year program celebrates youth who have overcome enormous odds and demonstrated exceptional character and accomplishments. These deserving young people are recognized for service to their Club and community, academic performance and contributions to their family through college scholarships.
MoneyMatters
MoneyMatters gives members the chance to learn about personal finance, savings, investments, banking, as well as the building blocks to running a business. Participants visit local banks and take part in a series of educational units designed to help them grow into financially responsible adults.
SMART Girls
SMART Girls is offered to members in grades 4 – 8 and focuses on issues specific to female members. It is designed to encourage healthy attitudes and lifestyles.
SMART Guys
SMART Guys is designed for boys in grades 4 – 8 and, like SMART Girls, focuses on healthy attitudes and lifestyles.
