What Is Be Great?
Boys and Girls Club of Burlington believes that every child has the potential to BE GREAT. In support of this strong conviction, we strive to build caring, responsible, productive and healthy citizens. The Club family—a community of staff, volunteers, parents, youth and supporters—work together to create a positive place, full of hope and opportunity for every child.
Who We Are:
We provide a safe, respectful and hopeful place for 1,000 children, many of whom are children of the jobless, the homeless, the incarcerated and the working poor.
- These children have names and faces and compelling stories.
- Programs for grades 4 - 12 at our Clubhouse at 62 Oak Street in Burlington
- Programs for grades K - 5 at Burlington’s Integrated Arts Academy (formerly H.O. Wheeler School)
- Programs for grades 6 - 8 at the O’Brien Community Center in Winooski
What We Do:
We bring children to good food when they are hungry, warm clothing when they are cold, help with their homework when there is no one at home who can, a future that is more secure than the present.
Why We Do It: (Our Mission)
To inspire and enable youth, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, healthy, responsible and caring citizens.
