The health, safety and well-being of our community is our top priority. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we made the difficult decision to cancel the Kentucky Derby Gala fundraiser May 2, 2020. This event raises $140,000 annually to support our Summer Camp program. Instead, we will have a non-event so that we can deliver our promise to provide fun and healthy programs for our kids this summer. Summer is already a vulnerable time of year for kids and families in our community, many of whom depend on the support provided by schools throughout the academic year. We expect this summer to be especially challenging for families who are already struggling. The Summer Camp program will be vital to kids. Along with the meals and structured programs we will offer educational support to help supplement any skills that may have been lost during this period of school closures. We will continue to rely on our community for the critical support necessary for this year's summer program.
